What We Do

PassportPhotoAI is a free online tool that generates compliant passport and visa photos for 50+ countries. Upload any front-facing photo and we automatically crop, resize, and apply the correct background — producing a print-ready JPEG that meets official government requirements. No software downloads, no account, no watermark.

How It Works

   Upload: Select any front-facing photo from your phone or computer (JPG, PNG, WEBP).

   AI Processing: Our AI detects your face, removes the background, and resizes the image to the exact pixel and millimetre dimensions required by your country.

   Compliance Check: We apply the correct background colour (white, light grey, or blue — depending on the country) at the required DPI.

   Download Free: Your photo is returned to your browser as a ready-to-print JPEG. It is never stored on our servers.

Our Photo Rules Database

Every country's passport photo requirements are different — size, head height ratio, background colour, and DPI all vary. We maintain a curated database of official requirements sourced directly from government immigration agencies (US Department of State, UK HM Passport Office, EU ICAO standards, Japan MoFA, and more). Each rule is linked to its official reference URL so you can verify independently.

Privacy & Security

Your photos are processed entirely in-memory on Vercel's serverless infrastructure and are never stored. We do not require an account, do not set tracking cookies, and do not share your images with any third party. The AI background removal step is handled by a professional API (remove.bg) under strict data processing terms. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
